unbound

For centuries, the harp has been framed through a narrow lens — associated with delicacy, ornament, and ethereal beauty. Unbound emerged from a desire to shift that narrative.

This project brought together new works by Dai Fujikura, Lise Morrison, Maja Bosnic, Frank Nuyts, and Mirek Coutigny. Across these pieces, the instrument moves beyond its ornamental history toward something more direct, material, and at times abrasive. Resonance becomes weight. Gesture becomes structure. The harp is treated not as a symbol, but as a contemporary body capable of friction and intensity.

​Unbound marked the beginning of an ongoing artistic trajectory: a commitment to collaboration, new repertoire, and the reimagining of what contemporary harp playing can be.
